The coastal city, recognised as a must-see destination in the Coquimbo Region, has just launched three unique experiences: Nature, Heritage and Wellnesswhere visitors can immerse themselves in spectacular scenery, discover historical relics and revitalise body and mind in unique surroundings.

Nature Route: Landscapes that connect with you

For outdoor enthusiasts, this alternative invites you to discover Playa Ñague, Laguna Conchalí, Quebrada de Quereo and the Pichidangui Wetland. Each of these spots offers unique opportunities for bird watching, hiking and connecting with the coastal biodiversity of the area.

Studies have shown that spending time in nature reduces stress and improves overall wellbeing, making this route a must for those seeking a revitalising getaway.

Heritage Route: Remnants of the past

This circuit takes visitors through historic railway tunnels, Diaguita petroglyphs and the Blas Alarcón Cultural Centre, allowing them to learn about the traces of ancient civilisations and the railway history of the region.

Highlights include the Caimanes and Quelon tunnels, the Tilama petroglyphs and the Gres Palo Negro pottery workshop, where you can experience traditional pottery techniques.

Wellness Route: Your path to wellbeing

If you are looking for relaxation and renewal, the Wellness Route combines activities such as grounding at Pichidangui Beach, forest baths at Vivero Vivo Diseño and holistic therapies at Casa Guangualí. In addition, you can enjoy a sunset meditation at the Culimo Reservoir or a quartz therapy at Cristales La Esperanza. A tour designed to disconnect from stress and reconnect with oneself.

Each route seeks to improve the experience of locals and tourists by promoting responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism.

Plan your experience

Travellers can access all the necessary information at voyalosvilos.cl/rutasturisticas, where they will find a detailed PDF of each route, as well as interactive maps on Google Maps that facilitate the transfer between points of interest:

  • Nature Route
  • Heritage Route
  • Wellness Route

In addition, through the official website you can check details on where to stay, which restaurants to visit and other tourist services available in Los Vilos.

An experience for all

The Los Vilos Self-Guided Routes are an invitation to discover the magic of this corner of Chile, whether exploring its biodiversity, learning about its history or dedicating some time to personal wellbeing. With an accessible, flexible and enriching proposal, Los Vilos is consolidated as an ideal tourist destination for travellers of all ages.

A commitment to sustainable tourism

This project is part of Amar Los Vilos, a programme that aims to recover the tourist vocation of the territory through initiatives for the organisation, promotion and activation of local commerce.

Thanks to the joint work of the Municipality of Los Vilos, Minera Los Pelambres and the Regional Corporation for Productive Development (CRDP), concrete actions are being taken to improve the experience of inhabitants and tourists, promoting responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism for all.

This initiative consolidates Los Vilos as an ideal tourist destination for travellers of all ages.

"The self-managed routes by the commune of Los Vilos are intended to publicise the various tourist experiences offered by the commune, around nature tourism, heritage tourism and wellness tourism, in order to demonstrate that in the southern gateway to the Coquimbo region tourism can be done throughout the year, in addition, being self-managed, allows people to visit each place at their own pace and in the season that suits them", is the invitation of the Mayor of Los Vilos, Christian Gross Hidalgo.
