The Governoronce again positioned itself as the best Chilean grape distillate, in the Pisco category, according to the Brand Report 2025 of the prestigious British magazine Drinks International.

Part of the portfolio of Juan Torres Master Distillers, the distillates division of Familia Torres, The Governor is a 40 proof pisco from the Limarí Valley in the north of Chile, made from the Muscatel Rosada and Muscat of Alexandria varieties under a single distillation process, which allows the terpenic aromas of the grapes to be better preserved.

Thus, in the report carried out by the famous publication, it occupies the second position in both lists, Bestselling Brands and Top Trending BrandsThis is a revalidation of last year's result. It should be noted that this report is issued on the basis of the replies from the bartenders of a hundred bars from 33 countries considered to be the best in the world, once again positioning Chilean pisco as the grape distillate of choice.

The Governor entered the ranking in 2018, in fourth place of trending brands and tenth of best-selling brands, and has been climbing up the rankings year after year.

The best-selling brandy brand for the sixth consecutive year

The same report states that Brandy Towers continues to be the best-selling brandy brand in the world's best bars. The well-known brandy from Penedès, produced by the distillates division of Familia Torres, tops the ranking of the most popular brandies in bars ('Bestselling Brands') for the sixth consecutive year and occupies the second position in the list of the brands that are trending today ('Top Trending Brands').

According to the editor of Drinks InternationalShay Waterworth, Torres Brandy continues to be unbeatable as a Bestselling Brand and remains one of the most fashionable brandies among the best bars in the world. A leadership that the publication attributes to the brand's commitment to innovation, with proposals that experiment with different types of barrels in the ageing of its distillates, and to its support for the sector as a sponsor of events as important as The World's 50 Best Bars.

Torres Brandy made its foray into the report ten years ago and has led the category of brandies made outside the French cognac region since the magazine created two distinct categories for this wine distillate in 2020.

Drinks International Brands Reportfirst published in 2010, is considered an excellent indicator of the industry's drinking trends and the buying habits of the world's best bars. It is based on a survey of 100 of the world's most influential bars, answered by their owners, managers or bartenders.

Spread across 33 countries, these establishments have been nominated for or won awards in major competitions such as The World's 50 Best Bars and Tales of the Cocktail Spirits Awards, as well as in prestigious regional and national competitions such as Asia's 50 Best Bars and Class Bar Awards.

About Pisco el Gobernador
In 1928 in Penedès Spain, Juan Torres Casals began distilling his wines to make brandy. 84 years later, this experience led Miguel Torres Maczassek to make the winery's first Pisco in Chile. Its image features a bottle made especially for this Pisco, with a Bartop cork closure and a lime green label that presents the story of the Governor of Ovalle, Felipe Margutt Donaire, who distinguished himself in the Battle of Maipú in 1818 where Chile's Independence was finally sealed.
