On Saturday 18 January, Talca will be the epicentre of the celebration of wine in all its splendour, as it hosts the twentieth edition of the Carmenere Night 2025The event will take place at Espacio Ankamapu (on the road to Santa María, plot #46, San Clemente), and will also be the venue for its Maule Wine Competition, promising to be the great event that pays homage to one of Chile's most iconic grape varieties, rediscovered 30 years ago.

The Maule Wine Competition will feature more than 12 categories to be awarded and the participation of 30 vineyards The event will bring together renowned winemakers, sommeliers and journalists, who will evaluate the excellence of the participating wines. The awards ceremony, which will take place on Saturday 18 January, is sure to be an unforgettable night, full of magic, music and high-level gastronomy.

“30 + 20”

This year, Carmenere Night celebrates two historic milestones:

  • 30 years of the rediscovery of Carmenere in ChileThis is a variety that has enhanced the national viticulture.
  • 20 years of experience of this event in the Maule region, consolidating it as a renowned winemaking tradition.

As a novelty, the event will open its doors to new alliances, inviting wineries from the valleys of Colchagua, Curicó and Itata, as well as small wineries that are part of the work carried out by INDAP Maule, who through its development department, encourage small producers in the region to participate in these events. Reflecting a commitment to rural development and promotion of family farming.

The event will feature wine tastings, interactive areas, dining rooms and live entertainment.

"One of the great novelties this year is the invitation to wineries from Mendoza to be part of this great event, which we are very excited about as their presence reflects the union and shared passion for fertile soils that produce wines of exceptional quality," says Bernardita Troncoso, president of the Maule Valley Wine Route.

"For another consecutive year, we have achieved both public and private support from institutions such as Plaza Maule and Espacio Ankamapu, as well as from Curifor, Buses TPL, Campo Noble, BASF, Industria Corchera S. A., Revista La Cav, VINOPRINT, Orfebre Gonzalo Torres and KUK Artesanias y souvenirs. In public terms, we have the sponsorship and support of INDAP Maule, the Municipality of San Clemente and the Municipal Cultural Corporation of the same commune, who have reaffirmed their commitment to culture and local development, playing an active role in the planning and execution of this emblematic event," says Marcela Leni, manager of the Maule Valley Wine Route.
