Colchagua: San Fernando prepares its 2nd Grape Harvest Festival

From May 1st to 3rd, the Plaza de Armas in San Fernando will once again be filled with wine glasses, live shows, gastronomy, and tradition with a new edition of its Harvest Festival, the last major celebration honouring the 2026 harvest in the O’Higgins Region and the country.

When many parties are already drawing to a close, San Fernando is preparing to offer the grand finale. And it's no coincidence. The city is recognised as the entrance to Colchagua Valley, one of Chile’s most prestigious wine regions, a strategic point from which the path opens up to historic vineyards, rural experiences, and some of the most attractive landscapes in the south-central part of the country.

Surrounded by well-known traditional and contemporary wineries, San Fernando also holds true treasures in the interior of the valley, especially due to its proximity to the Colchagua Andes, . . . an increasingly valued area where wine, mountains and nature coexist with their own strong character.

From here, routes are projected towards pre-Andean sectors such as Puente Negro, Las Peñas, and Sierras de Bellavista. These landscapes enrich the visitor's experience with fresh air, rural traditions, and unforgettable scenery.

And for those who want to continue exploring, – and have more time – within the commune are the mythical Dinosaur Footprints of Termas del Flaco, one of those natural landmarks that remind us of the geographical and historical wealth surrounding San Fernando.

The Harvest San Fernando 2026 The first release's success will be consolidated with a more ambitious undertaking: more vineyards, more exhibitors, a diverse artistic programme, and an experience designed for both locals and visitors who wish to bid farewell to the season with a grand toast.

Three days of wine, music, and meeting

The celebration will take place in the San Fernando Plaza, transforming the city centre into a great meeting point to enjoy wine, local gastronomy, and live entertainment for the whole family.

The I. Municipality of San Fernando has confirmed three strong names to headline the main stage:

Friday 1 May: Alanys Lagos, one of the most popular emerging voices in tropical ranchera music.

Saturday 2 May: Nicole, with classics that have accompanied generations and a consolidated trajectory.

Sunday 3rd May: Claws of Love, in charge of closing with rhythm, romance, and total party.

A cross-cutting programme that confirms the harvest as an open, diverse and profoundly civic celebration.

Local talent will also be on display

One of the most appealing features of this year’s event will be the strong local focus. Over 75% of the artistic programme will be made up of artists from the local area, reinforcing San Fernando’s cultural identity.

Performances will include groups such as Dúo Maitinada, Parientes de Roma, Ballet Folclórico Municipal, Club de Cuecas San Fernando, Big Band Municipal, Pancho Alva and other acts that will bring roots, energy and a sense of belonging.

Because a vintage festival is not just enjoyed with glasses and wines: it is also experienced through music, dance, and encounters.

28 stalls of Colchaguan vines to explore

The wine will, of course, be the star of the show. The organisation announced the presence of 28 vineyards and exhibitors, including renowned wineries from the valley such as Ravanal Vineyard, Viu Manent, MontGras, Casa Silva, Coil and Laura Hartwig.

Smaller projects and peasant producers will also participate, allowing you to discover new labels and different perspectives on Colchagua wine.

For the visitor, that means a great opportunity: to tour the valley without leaving the square and to sample its diversity, glass by glass.

A city that's easy to visit

Another point in favour of San Fernando is its excellent connectivity. It is easily accessible by Train, in buses with frequent departures and arrivals throughout the day, or by private vehicle thanks to its immediate proximity to the Route 5 South.

This makes it an ideal destination for both day trips and weekend stays, exploring wineries, restaurants, and the valley's attractions.

What will you find? Tastings, vineyards, gastronomy and crafts. Live shows and local artists.
Remember that the city is easily accessible by train, bus, or private car, and it's an ideal setting for the whole family. If you still had one last getaway to celebrate the 2026 harvest, San Fernando seems to have the answer: great regional wines and Colchagua celebrating in style.

Find here is all the programming.

Where? San Fernando's Main Square.
When? 1, 2 and 3 May 2026.
