At Emiliana Organic Vineyards they are celebrating Earth Month

The world’s largest organic vineyard has presented its 2025 sustainability indicators, highlighting the reduction of its carbon footprint and a global award in circular economy. With a business model based on returning more to nature than it extracts, the company reinforces its leadership once again through the demanding Regenerative Organic Certification (ROC).

April and the commemoration of Earth Day mark a key moment in the year for businesses and consumers to reflect on their impact on the planet.

Far from remaining a mere discourse, Emiliana Organic Vineyards has decided to launch a new edition of your campaign Earth Month, demonstrating with concrete figures that organic regenerative agriculture and winemaking under these standards are a real and effective response to climate change.

When presenting the results of its 2025 sustainability indicators measurement, the vineyard reaffirms the success of its operational model.

“Earth Month reminds us that sustainability is not a department within a company, but our way of understanding work. Regenerative-organic goes beyond producing without chemicals; it is a way of thinking and connecting with nature, understanding that we are part of it and that our collective well-being depends on our actions today,” commented Sebastián Tramón, Sustainability Manager.

To support this vision, Emiliana Organic Vineyards highlighted three major environmental impact milestones achieved during the last period:

Climate action: reducing carbon footprint

Caring for the planet requires a constant reduction in emissions. In 2025, the vineyard managed to reduce its carbon footprint by 51% compared to the previous year, reaching just 1.26 kg of CO2e per bottle.

This was made possible by the fact that 100% of the electricity used in its warehouses comes from renewable sources, meaning that 86% of its total operations are powered by clean energy.

In terms of packaging, almost 90% of its 750ml bottles weigh less than 420 grams – 27% lighter than the industry average – drastically reducing the energy required for their manufacture and transport.

Circular and community economy

The vineyard has established a pioneering collaborative vermicomposting project that nourishes the soil naturally, working in partnership with local residents and small-scale farmers across a network stretching from Ovalle to Mulchén. Using earthworms, they transform organic matter into natural fertilisers, restoring the soil’s vitality.

The impact of this action is so profound that it was awarded globally as the “Green Initiative of the Year” by the prestigious magazine The Drinks Business. Additionally, the company managed to produce over 1,800 tonnes of compost this year to be used in its own vineyards.

Living ecosystem refuges

Protecting the land means fostering the wildlife that coexists with the vines. The company currently maintains 836 hectares set aside exclusively for the conservation of native flora and fauna. These veritable green lungs and ecological corridors were bolstered this year with the planting of 2,105 native trees and shrubs, comprising 43 different species. As a key complement to soil nutrition and biodiversity, 100% of the cultivated land is protected by vegetation cover.

This Earth Month, Emiliana Organic Vineyards reaffirms that transparency is the standard of the future. Their regenerative-organic wines, free from toxic pesticides, herbicides, artificial flavourings and colourings, are backed by the most demanding global certifications, such as Organic Certification, B Corp, The Vegan Society, and Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC).
